A Romantic Kitsap County Wedding in Bremerton, WA | Hayley & Charles
Hayley and Charles’ wedding day at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington was the kind of day that reminds me exactly why I love photographing weddings in Kitsap County: emotional, thoughtful, full of meaning, and grounded in genuine connection.
From our very first call, it was clear that these two cared deeply about creating a day that felt intentional, calm, and true to who they are. They weren’t just thinking about how their wedding would look, they were thinking about how it would feel. And that mindset shaped everything, from their photography coverage to their timeline and even the way they chose to see each other for the first time on their wedding day.
From Planning to Storytelling
Before the wedding ever arrived, we spent time walking through their plans and priorities together, including how the day would flow, what moments mattered most, and how to make sure the experience felt smooth instead of rushed. They were working with a planner, and together we coordinated a photo-friendly timeline that still left plenty of breathing room to actually enjoy the day.
We also planned their engagement session with the same care. Hayley and Charles loved the idea of gardens and waterfront views (their proposal happened in a rose garden!), and they were open to traveling around Kitsap County to find the perfect fit. We landed on a sunrise beach session for soft, glowing light and it set the tone for the relaxed, natural feel they wanted in their photos.
The Wedding Day at Gold Mountain Golf Club
On the wedding day, we had coverage in two places at once during getting ready so nothing felt rushed or missed. One of my favorite moments of the entire day happened during their first look, which included a surprise appearance from the best man in a wedding dress before Charles saw Hayley. It was hilarious, heartfelt, and immediately set everyone at ease.
And then… the real first look. Tears all around. Including a few from behind the cameras.
This is exactly why so many couples go back and forth between a first look vs. a traditional aisle reveal. Hayley and Charles wanted space to actually feel that moment together, without an audience, and it gave them time to breathe, connect, and be fully present before the ceremony began.
Later, their ceremony was full of emotion and celebration, followed by a reception that leaned into the fun, silly, joyful side of who they are. We even snuck away for a few quiet golden hour portraits overlooking the lake—a perfect pause in the middle of a very full, very beautiful day.
A Day That Felt Genuine and Personal
More than anything, their wedding wasn’t about perfection, it was about connection, comfort, and presence. A day that flowed smoothly, felt emotionally rich, and left space for real moments to happen naturally.
Hayley and Charles, thank you for trusting me with your story. It was an honor to walk alongside you, from planning through the final dance, and to document the beginning of this next chapter.
