Some wedding days feel like pure sunshine — warm, joyful, and full of tiny, thoughtful moments that reflect exactly who a couple is. This Ray’s Boathouse Wedding for Ingrid & Juno was exactly that kind of day. From their sweet first look at Golden Gardens Park in Seattle to their heartfelt tea ceremony and a sunset on the pier, every piece of their celebration felt true to their story — playful, meaningful, and full of love.
These two describe themselves as cheery, fun, and easy-going — the kind of couple who make each other laugh every day. They’re each other’s best friends first and foremost, and according to them, “there is never a dull day in Inno-land” (Ingrid + Juno = Inno — how cute is that?).
From Climbing Gym to Hot Pot
Ingrid and Juno met when they were the only two people in a brand-new climbing gym next to Juno’s hospital. As a first-year resident, Juno had just wrapped a brutal overnight call shift and needed to move — while Ingrid, then a senior in college, decided to squeeze in some climbs before class. It was the perfect accidental meeting. A hot pot dinner later, Ingrid knew he’d be more than just a climbing buddy.
Their proposal story is just as sweet: on their first hike together at Cloudland Canyon State Park in Georgia, Ingrid was freezing but Juno came prepared — surprising her with hot Shin Ramen at the summit. That tradition stuck, and on Christmas Eve 2022, when icy weather ruined plans for a mountain cabin, Juno turned his living room into a sea of candles and twinkle lights. When Ingrid went to make ramen, Juno took the cup, dropped to one knee — and between ramen and tears, she said yes.
A Vision of Whimsy & Romance
Ingrid and Juno’s vision for their wedding was whimsical and romantic, with thoughtful touches inspired by Studio Ghibli and Japanese influences. They hung delicate origami cranes throughout their ceremony and reception spaces (folded by Juno who’s known for gifting them to his pediatric patients) — symbols of hope and longevity. Sunflowers, Juno’s late mother’s favorite flower, filled the day with bright warmth and meaning.
They blended cultures beautifully too — honoring Japanese, Chinese, and Korean traditions with a tea ceremony, paebaek, and a classic American wedding ceremony on Ray’s Boathouse’s iconic pier.
Planning a wedding that combines multiple traditions and outfit changes can be a lot — but they were in good hands with Lauren from Gather Well Events. Ingrid shared how Lauren’s calming presence kept her nerves steady and made the entire planning process feel more manageable.

First Look at Golden Gardens Park in Seattle
Ingrid and Juno kicked off their wedding day with a first look at Golden Gardens Park, a gorgeous spot for couple’s portraits in Seattle. The lush greenery, sparkling water, and full summer sun made for timeless, bright photos that really captured how playful and sweet they are together.

Ray's Boathouse Wedding in Seattle
Their ceremony took place on the pier at Ray’s Boathouse, with sailboats drifting in the background and the Olympic Mountains peeking through the blue sky. Ingrid and Juno exchanged vows under a floral arch, surrounded by their closest people. The light danced off the water all afternoon — one of the best things about this venue is how it so effortlessly showcases Seattle’s coastal beauty.

Reception, Speeches, and the Best Sunset Views
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed Ray’s famously delicious food. If you’re looking for a Seattle venue with incredible catering, a Ray’s Boathouse wedding never disappoints — their fresh seafood and seasonal dishes are always a highlight.
There were big laughs and more than a few happy tears during the speeches — you could feel how loved these two are. Before the night wrapped up, we snuck away for a few sunset portraits on the dock, which is always worth it at this location. Those last golden rays over Puget Sound were the perfect ending to a perfect day.

A Meaningful Tea Ceremony
One of my favorite moments was Ingrid and Juno’s Japanese tea ceremony. In Japanese weddings, a tea ceremony symbolizes harmony between the couple, respect for their elders, and the blending of families—making it both emotional and culturally rich. They changed into traditional attire and shared this beautiful tradition with their families, surrounded by friends who were so respectful and supportive. The ceremony took place during the brightest part of the day on Ray’s open deck, creating some unique lighting challenges, but the significance of these moments made every shot worth capturing. These are the moments that make a wedding day feel truly personal and unforgettable.
