What to Expect From Your Boudoir Session
A combination of excitement and nerves before your boudoir session is completely normal, but we want to minimize the latter as much as possible. Setting expectations is an important part of heading into your session with confidence.
This is especially important if you’ve never had a boudoir photoshoot before or have no frame of reference. So, let’s talk about what to expect from your boudoir session!
The Location
We know how important the location of your photoshoot is in achieving a certain aesthetic. That’s why we take the time to find the best options. Whether a professional studio or a gorgeous Airbnb, you can trust that your session will take place at a location with beautiful, natural light, and an elegant aesthetic.
When searching for shoot locations we look for: plenty of natural light, beautiful furniture, and plenty of space for floor shots. We aim to use a few different areas of the location including any combination of the following:
-Bed
-Couch/Chair
-Floor
-Window
Using different seating arrangements and backdrops offers plenty of variety for your gallery. It also allows us to get creative and find the most flattering poses and arrangements for you.
The Planning Phase
These sessions go by quickly, so the first thing we’ll do when you arrive is layout a game plan. This shoot is all about you, so we’ll make a plan that leaves you feeling comfortable, confident, and unbelievably sexy!
We’ll start by going over your outfit and props. It’s ok (and even encouraged) to bring more items than we have time for. It will give us the opportunity to narrow down to something that you feel great in as well as looks great in the space.
Posing
A lot of our clients walk into their boudoir shoot feeling uncertain about how to pose themselves. They may have taken to Pinterest for inspiration or just have no idea of what to do.
But, don’t worry! You don’t have to know anything at all about posing when you walk in the door. That’s what we’re there for. We opt for more natural poses to focus on you rather than the pose, but we also throw in a few classic boudoir poses for variety.
We’ll walk you through each and every pose while capturing the most flattering angles for your unique body type. We’ll even guide your facial expressions!
Bottom line is that there’s nothing you need to worry about except having a great time and being yourself!

Once you get home, take some time to relax and soak in all of that post-session mood boost. Then, start thinking about what you want to do with all of your beautiful portraits. If these are a gift for your partner, consider some wall art for your bedroom or a few prints to tuck into their wallet. There’s no wrong way to show off your images, but we recommend finding some unique way to show them off!
